Claudette King Anniversary Concert
The Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center celebrates its 11th anniversary with Claudette King, daughter of blues legend B.B. King. Featuring jazz vocalist Kemba Cofield, this concert honors the Lyric's legacy while welcoming the future ahead.
CLAUDETTE KING, dubbed "The Bluz Queen" is the youngest daughter of B. B. King, the ultimates blues master, and if familial genes count for anything, she is "On to something." A National Recording Academy member, she has the life experiences to make lyrics mean something. She has a natural ease in shifting with the mood of each word. However, most certainly, the power of Claudette's enthusiasm for the beautiful genre-blending music merits ample notice.
As Claudette says, "Is it the root of everything — all other genres — it isn't Rhythm & Blues, it is the Rhythm in the Blues.”
