Pre-film discussion begins at 2:30 p.m.
Film screening at 3:00 p.m.
Post-film discussion immediately following the conclusion of the film.
Event mission statement: "The Arts Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Beta Gamma Omega Chapter, will further expose the community to the works of the late Toni Morrison and have a viewing of her movie Beloved. A discussion of her work will be led by Rynetta Davis from the University of Kentucky."
Beloved is a 1998 American fantasy drama film directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, and Thandie Newton. Based on Toni Morrison's 1987 novel of the same name, the plot centers on a former slave after the American Civil War, her haunting by a poltergeist, and the visitation of her reincarnated daughter.
